surfing
Let's see.. Haven't been productive at all, but i guess that's the point of holidays.. at least for me.
the only thing i've been doing is just bumming around at the beach. It's so nice to just lie on the beach. Of course, getting dark is the con. But, the aussies definitely loves their tan! The only thing the sun is doing to my skin is giving it scales!! Sun definitely ages skin, and I have good solid proof, ON me!!! and if i come home dark, it's an aussie-thang..
Well, the most fun i had was yesterday! Been surfing! Well, not actual surfing, but attempting surfing. With Malibu surfboards! sounds cool eih.. but those boards are just bigger surfboards which are softer so if they whack you, you don't actually have a hole in the head.
Let me just say one thing, wind and board does not go together! I had so much trouble bringing the board near the water, and into the sea. I had problems keeping the board in the right direction. Imagine wind blowing the board and the board pushing you while you try to walk on the sand which is really soft, making it even more tiring. Not mentioning the fact that gym on the previous day left my whole body aching. On top of that paddling in the water got me no where.. Weird. But when the waves pushes your board when you are on it,.... ooooh it's FUN! drinking sea water was not fun though, and the instructor did mention that we are not meant to drink it, when i told him that i did not expect it to be thaaaat salty. Of course I knew that. Even though i am a bimbo at surfing, I am doing biomed after all! drinking sea water not only leaves you dehydrated but most probably with the worst case of poisoning. urgh.. worst germs.. or even feces.. who knows?!
Well, that's that. the effort of putting on and taking off the wetsuit, bringing the board to and fro from the sea, and actually paying for that hour and half of 'surfing' was definitely worth it! Definitely looking into doing it again before i get back home, or is anyone else interested to do it back at home? any recommendations??
signing off.
peaceout, surfer chick of the weekend.

there's no other word to describe it. and ppl thought english is a developed language. either that or my vocab sucks.. i doubt the latter.
i could barely fit into my dress. i need my gym sessions but is just too lazy. Alwiz thought of reasons to NOT go. and then feel absoultely guilty of not going, and still consuming all the chocs and sweets and cakes and cookies.. If you didn't notice, food is my ULTIMATE solace. Biggest emotional eater, all arrows will be pointing at me!
Assignments are piling up. That's like after finishing one major one.
~I HATE BIOINFORMATICS with a PASSION~
Lessons are getting complicated.
Hmm.. what else is there to life?
oh. plus i got HSV! herpes!
actually i got the vaccination against it, meaning the virus now lives in my body. the vaccination left my arm sore. =(
And, suaree (a cultural) dinner is coming up and i have to make a costume (eygptian). And i absolutely hate sewing. Could barely sew in a straight line. We'll see how my costume turn out.
My moan-y post ends here. If i take it any further, i will be thrown rocks and rotten eggs at by people in 3rd world countries. hmm.. probably not the rotten eggs, cause they are low on food.

Past and Future Night
thought to save money, i could just wear my batik. Well, i'm actually thinking batik = past malaysian women. But in the end, it turned out that i look as though i was going to the beach. But, you know what... I'm a trendy gal from the past. That's right!
And the peepz from upstairs are supposed to dress from the future. They did a pretty fantastic job. Some of them dressed according to the characters from Futurama. Watch nearly every single episode, and on top of that, dressed as them. hmm... is that a huge help sign for futurama addiction?
that's 'bender' and me and the picture below shows melissa as the asian chick from futurama, and ivan (red) as the main character and glenn as the captain. I'm not that bigga fan to remember all the character names.. especially with my 'excellent' memory.

MERDEKA!
Can't believe i actually celebrated merdeka day! reminds me of the ol' skool days where we sang patriotic songs to our hearts! well, believe it or not, i participated in the 'Voice Chamber' singing in front of 250 peepz. If it was bad, don't tell me, if it was good, u can drop me some messages (to those who had seen the performance).
I love how everyone semangat sing our two fave patriotic songs. Keranamu Malaysia which ppl just screamed 'Keranamu lalalala...' not knowing the lyrics. And of course, the all time fave, Tanggal 31! any malaysians who doesn't know this song ought to chop theirselves up using a butcher knife. Easiest and best patriotic song ever. Last night was a truly malaysian night.. roast duck was served too! man i miss that! and fried ice-cream too! and believe it or not, i never had it before back at home. And Gowri told me that they sold it at Chow Yang!! all the times i was there... sigh.. i'm disappointed in myself!
Anyways, that's it. Let's see how tomorrow night goes. First theme party for my block.

The day didn't quite end there. Since we had the car for the day. We decided to make full use of it. Driving it to the grocery store, gym (yes we DROVE there to walk, and the gym was less than 10 minutes walk away) and we drove to Evatt House (which was just across the road) to meet some friends. And of course, we drove to the beach at night too! A bit cold, and had my first Hokkien Mee in..... 7 months?!! it tasted good but the noodles are the thin type. Sigh, Malaysia serves the best food ever.
Event 4: Next day, was soooo bummed, but had to wake up at 800 to return the car, took a bus to develop some photos to find the machines not working. Took another bus trip back and slept til arvo. Had a meeting with friends. And then... went to a drive-in theatre!! It was my first ever and it was EXACTLY like in Grease!! It was supppper awesome!! and i'm not kidding!I felt as though i travelled back time. It was gravel road, and there was a small old but well-maintained building selling food. it was friggggggiiinngg cold though! thank god i had a blanket but still, i was shaking.
Price wise, 40bucks for a car. and three new movies! the simpsons, die hard 4 and knocked up! what-a-deal! but i kinda slept through knocked up, cause i've seen it before.
And sunday came, and i had another meeting with friends, and i TRUSTED my housemates and left my room door un-locked. And guess what? BIG mistake. Evidence as shown below,
They TP my room! aiyo.. and guess what, my RA(shae) just watched!! and did not stop them!.. Thank you very much guys! i appreciate it. But honestly, it was done pretty neatly (the knots at the side). Doesn't mean i'd allow it again though!
Well, after that whole scenario, we had a unit dinner!! and it was Pizza Night!! Shae rolled up some doughs, and I put toppings on mine!! Mine was The Best! well, not really, actually, shae's was the best. Olives do make a lot of difference! And we had Apple Crumble with Ice cream for dessert.. yumm.. And now here i am, supposedly doing my lab report, but here am blogging. Ok, back to work.. sigh. Will look forward for the next weekend!

Missed Sydney!
2 ass due this week.
But I did manage to get around newcastle a bit more though.. Supposedly for lunch but time passed sooo fast. Saturday afternoon was near purrr-fect. Went down to Scratchley's to satisfy my calamari rings cravings! *sigh* it was gooood.. with the view of the ocean nearby.. (but actually it is more of a view of a dock, with ships passing).
Followed by a quest to search for Wicked Chocolate. As the name tells you, the place is fucking WICKED!! one of my new fave places.
1) couches - win me over at once.. and they are clean! win me over even more!
2) NO CROWD!!!! - can u ask for more
.... apparently you can!
3) super-friendly owners - makes me think they deserve their lil shop even more.. what a dream, to own a choc shop near the beach!
4) and most importantly.... AMAZING choc drinks, cakes and chocolates! They use belgium chocs to make the drinks.. and seriously 'kau' wei... and guess wut?! the price is the same as gloria jeans (4$) .. and the cherry choc truffle cake with brandy was yummylicious. No kidding!
how good is that?!
then, we decided to go back to miserable home.. the only reason its miserable is because of the assignments that are waiting for me. But the bus wouldn't come til half hour later (there is bus time tables here unlike KL). So, half an hour, what to do...?
Lie on the grass facing the ocean, with the warm sun beam on our bodies with the wind blowing....
pretty cool eih?
But actually, at one point, the wind was sooo strong, it felt as though it was pushing us.. but can't ask for too much sometimes... sigh.. my lovely afternoon....
and now? sitting in front of my laptop for one a half days, doing my assignment. just finished a tub of vanilla ice-cream. Work is definitely not good for my weight. but oh well....
~till next update~
